Greetings from the south shores of Bay Lake at Walt Disney World Resort, the future home of Disney Lakeshore Lodge! This nature-inspired resort is designed to invite guests to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature. The resort will open in summer 2027, offering unique experiences rooted in Disney storytelling and the beauty of Bay Lake.

June 17, 2026: First Look at The Wetlands at Disney Lakeshore Lodge

The Wetlands is a sweeping outdoor recreation area just beyond the resort lobby, surrounded by the natural beauty of Bay Lake. It features both wet and dry play areas inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 'Pocahontas,' with whimsical elements celebrating the connections found in nature. Younger guests can explore imaginative climbing features at Heron Shores and enjoy interactive water play at Otter Springs, while the lazy Daydream River invites guests to float peacefully through the area.

At the heart of The Wetlands is Lakeside Lagoon, a zero-entry feature pool where guests of all ages can gather under the Florida sun. The pool includes a spiral waterslide and is complemented by Perspective Pond, a leisure pool and whirlpool spa offering nighttime views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Each area of The Wetlands offers a unique connection to nature, combining tranquility with moments of discovery and play. Guests exploring the scenic paths will find educational plaques sharing fun facts about local flora and fauna, as well as a tribute to a historic attraction that previously stood on the site.
